Where can pastors who need pastoral care themselves turn? To the Employee Assistance Program for conference clergy and their families.
The EAP is administered by Methodist Healthcare and provides free confidential counseling and help with life's concerns, including family issues, marial difficulties, substance abuse, anxiety or depression, life transitions (relocation, serious illness, etc.), grief and everyday stress.
How does it work?
Pastors or their family members call the EAP to make an appointment with a counselor. The counselors all are certified, licensed professionals who are caring, understanding consultants with extensive counseling experience. A counselor can be reached 24 hours a day, seven days a week in crisis situations. Use of the program and issues discussed in all sessions are held in strict confidence.
To contact the EAP, call toll-free 1.800.880.5658.
