The United Methodist Dollars for Scholars program begins with a $1,000 scholarship from your church. The award may then be matched by UMHEF for a total of $2,000. Participating United Methodist-related schools and UM conference foundations may also each match. Award may total up to $4,000. Funds are limited at each matching level; awards and totals are not guaranteed.
The General Named Endowed Scholarship program includes awards of various amounts from 130+ named scholarship funds established by various donors. In addition to basic eligibility requirements, some funds have additional criteria (i.e., resident of specific conference, majoring in specified field, etc.) students must meet in order to be considered. We will match you with the award(s) for which you are most eligible based on your application.
Special Scholarships Available for:
•Students of ethnic minorities
•Students attending UM-related HBCUs
•Seminary and theological school students
•Students preparing for chaplaincy in US Military
Criteria:
•Must be a member of The United Methodist Church, African Methodist Episcopal Church, AME Zion Church, or Christian Methodist Episcopal Church
•Must be attending or planning to attend a UM-related college, university, or seminary.
•Additional criteria may apply
