Reflections: In The Meantime - Esther

3/22/2022

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 22, 2022

Friends,

We're continuing in the series, "In the Meantime," but we're taking a bit of a different turn in this webisode. We've been looking at how to respond "In the Meantime" between hearing a promise from God and the promise coming to fruition. In the Book of Esther, you find that God is not referenced in the book as making a promise. In fact, God is not referenced at all, but it's clear that His hand is steadily moving through Esther's story.

As you spend some devotional time in the Book of Esther, notice two lessons from Esther's life. First, God doesn't always tell you about the promise before he fulfills it. Often we have to ask for guidance to discern the right path. Second, sometimes God doesn't speak to a situation and we get to participate in the spiritual practices that we know demonstrate a deep dependence on God, and wait for revelation.

Read the background text of this webisode, Esther 4:13-16, click on the image below, watch this video and join me today in reserving some quiet time to reflect on what insights and direction God’s word can offer us.

‘Reflections,' a vlog set to air every two weeks, is an opportunity to commit to regular devotion and discernment on how we can grow as disciples.

In the future, you can also view past episodes on the conference website at mississippi-umc.org/reflections.
