Miss. Conf. Delegation to Host Regional Briefings and Listening Sessions

The 2020 General Conference will convene May 5 – 15 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Your Mississippi Conference Delegation would like to invite you to attend an interactive regional briefing/listening session on one of the dates below at a location nearest you. As you are aware, there will be major discussion and decisions on how we continue to live into our mission and vision as a denomination, and as a conference after May 15. Additionally, there are 14 legislative committees that will collectively consider over 1,100 pages of legislation about ordering ministry, doing mission work around the world, functioning as a local church and financial impacts on the local churches. We want you to be aware of those issues coming before your delegation.

We will share a high-level overview of the legislation submitted to General Conference, including the structural plans to be considered. We will spend about 90 minutes in a time of loving, learning and leading together. We will begin with a time of worship. You will have the opportunity to learn as we share what will be coming before us. Additionally, we will lead together as the delegation sets aside approximately 30 minutes to hear your thoughts on the Mississippi Annual Conference’s needs and future in preparation to make decisions at General Conference.
