A number of important supports for families and businesses were approved in the second round of Economic Impact Payments as part of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 which passed in December 2020. Below are a few targeted programs that churches and ministries may find helpful in sharing as part of our outreach efforts.

Rental Assistance Applications Open March 29, 2021. To read the March 29, 2021 press release click here. Mississippi has received $200 million to help people with rent and utility payments dating back to March 2020. Please note that individual or family eligibility must be at or below 80% of the area median income (AMI) set by HUD (Housing and Urban Development) in order to qualify. Facing Eviction? Anyone needing assistance when facing eviction should contact the Mississippi Center for Justice Hotline at 228-702-9983 or the University of Mississippi Law School Housing Clinic at 662.915.3493. The Kentucky Equal Justice Center developed a tool that allows people facing eviction to fill out and sign a notification document online and email it to their landlord. Click here to use the tool.
