Called Session of SEJ Conference
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 19, 2021
The 2020 Southeastern Jurisdiction Conference, originally scheduled for July 15-17, 2020, at Lake Junaluska, North Carolina, was postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. On May 26, 2021, the College of Bishops of the Southeastern Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church, in accordance with ¶521 of the 2016 Book of Discipline, called for a special session of the jurisdictional conference on July 21, 2021. The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. Central/ 10 a.m. EST and will be held virtually.

. We will begin and end our time together in worship. Bishop Swanson will be presiding.
The primary focus of the session shall be limited to the following agenda items:
- Vote to authorize the formation of the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference of The United Methodist Church
- Receive a report from the Southeastern Jurisdiction on the pandemic response in the jurisdiction, the work of antiracism across the jurisdiction and the work of the jurisdiction moving forward into the next 18 months
Our elected delegates will be voting on the resolution
to unite the Tennessee and Memphis Conferences to form the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference. Find articles and updates related to the uniting of the two conferences here
