Meridian churches gather for singing

Four Meridian-area Methodist churches met Nov. 30 for a Fifth Sunday Night Singing at Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Gilbert Prince welcomed a full church, and the Andrews Chapel choir presented a lively rendition of I got Heaven on My Mind under the direction of Mark Barrett and Susan Copeland at the piano.

Other churches in attendance were:

• Druid Hills United Methodist Church; the Rev. David Meadows, pastor; Gordon Brown, choir director and Sharron Johnson organist and pianist

• College Park United Methodist; the Rev. Kenneth Owen, pastor; Mary Alice Stokes, music director and Mary Hope Crawford pianist

• Wesley United Methodist; the Rev. Curtis Lucy, pastor; Sherry Morgan, choir director and pianist.

Charlene Windmire of Druid Hills sang Some Little Children See Him for the children. She used a ceramic manger that she had made to tell the story of Jesus.
