After moving to Amory, n leading a Bible study for women in the community. Eleven women met in 1999 and began organizing, praying and studying the Bible. Sweatt taught the class, which she says ignited a new depth to her relationship with Jesus Christ. The Amory Ladies Community Bible Study began to grow and has enrolled more than 130 women in 2008.

In 2001, Sweatt begin speaking for various groups. During this time she developed a series of character monologues that recreate women from the Bible. Her works include Mary, the mother of Jesus; Mary Magdelene, and the Inn Keeper’s wife. All of the performances include scripture and music. Sweatt also has developed several talks and retreats that illumine the call to Christian living. While much of her work is created for and directed toward women, the gospel truths that she presents speak to all people.

Sweatt will be the third guest for Eupora First UMC’s “Fifth Sunday on Fox Ave” ministry. The public is invited to attend. A love offering will be taken.
