Alexander leads Jackson Central revival

“Resurrecting Our Hope in Jesus” was the theme of Jackson Central United Methodist Church’s annual fall revival.

Dr. Martha A. Alexander, guest evangelist, delivered three messages of hope, gospel and truth based on the theme scripture: “A new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 1:3 (b). Alexander is an elder in the Mississippi Conference and serves as deputy director of Operation Shoestring.

Believing that God is doing a new thing (Isaiah 43:19) in the life of the church, Alexander delivered her messages with down-home axioms and dialect for a new day and a new generation.

“We have been entirely blessed with Dr. Alexander’s presence and the power of her message,” said Dr. Jimmy Barnes, Central’s pastor.

The entire congregation participated in the three-night event. Special thanks were expressed to those participants and to Carlos King, chair, and to the Evangelism Committee for planning the revival.
