Byhalia UMC lifts children to new heights through VBS

Byhalia United Methodist Church recently held its Vacation Bible School, “Lift Off: Soaring to New Heights with God.”

Each evening students heard from Scoop, the high flying reporter, and Skylar, a flying squirrel, about their nightly adventures. During this time students were given their lift-off flight plan words. Sunday night was “Follow God,” Monday night was “Trust God” and Tuesday Night was “Listen to God.”

The church had a special guest each night. Dr. Amy, the “mad scientist,”  took participants into her launch lab where they learned from experiments how to put their flight plan to work in their daily lives. Students also had the opportunity to enjoy times with crafts, recreation and music.

On Wednesday night the students presented a program about what they had learned during VBS to parents and guests.

The average attendance for the week was 100 for each evening.
