Greenwood couple establishes endowment for children

An endowment fund for activities for Methodist Children’s Homes was recently established by Dorothy and Frank Odom of Greenwood.

The endowment is in memory of Dorothy Odom’s late grandfather, James Brooks Streater, and her parents, Huldah and H.M. Streater. Dorothy Odom is a member of Greenwood St. John United Methodist Church. Frank Odom died earlier this year.

The Streater Endowment will allow enrichment opportunities for the young people served by Methodist Children’s Homes. Enrichment opportunities would include activities such as music and art lessons, visits to museums, musical and theater performances, field trips, cultural outings, sporting events and other activities.

Contributions to Methodist Children’s Homes may be designated to the endowment.

The mission of MCH is to serve God’s children and families by providing safe homes, influencing futures, and healing hearts and minds with Christian love and care.
