Convocation on Black Church returns to Rust


The Convocation on the Black Church returns this year after being cancelled in 2005 because of Hurricane Katrina. The full-day of workshops and seminars is scheduled for 8 a.m. Oct. 7 at Rust College in Holly Springs.


Keynote speaker for the event is the Rev. Elijah McGee, a Mississippi native and now the associate director of Connectional Ministries for the Tennessee Conference and pastor of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Nashville.


The theme for this year’s event is “Walking in the Light.” Planned workshops and their leaders include:

    Youth Ministry: Keeping It Real — Deneace Glover (for youth only).
