Ruleville First UMC goes 'Pink'

Pink was the color of choice for many members of Ruleville First United Methodist Church on Aug. 13.

On that day during the morning worship service, the church honored “Pinky” Maxwell.

The United Methodist Women decided to honor “Mrs. Pinky” who recently turned 90. Maxwell has been a faithful member and continues to be at church every time the doors are opened. She has served in every position in the church from teaching to trimming the bushes.

During the worship service, Maxwell was given a scrapbook of letters from members, former members, former pastors, friends, families and her current pastor, Gary Howse. The letters stated how Maxwell touched their lives. She was also given a corsage from the United Methodist Women. Maxwell was present a plaque for her service in the church, and for doing God’s work in the community.
