Smith resumes evangelism work

The Rev. James T. Smith has announced his plans to return to working as a full-time evangelist.

Smith founded the James T. Smith Evangelistic Association, Inc. 30 years ago.

The number one program that the organization uses is REAL, using the first two and last two letters of revival and renewal.

Smith spent three years as full-time, Mississippi Conference-approved evangelist following the founding of the organization in 1975. Now, after retiring in 2002, having quadruple by-pass heart surgery that fall and then serving as a retired supply pastor for four years, he is ready to resume the work.

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the ministry, Smith has dedicated the summer of 2006 to making the ministry available to any United Methodist church with a limited revival budget at no cost to the church beyond basic expense. Smith has begun to set dates even now and suggests a cluster concept of two or more churches coming together and sharing revival in their area.

Smith is able to provide music leadership under the concept of “music, motivation, and mirth."
