Indiana church showers Coast with love

in Evansville, Ind., has donated a trailer with four shower facilities that was specially built for volunteers to use at Trinity UMC in Gulfport.

Bruce and Anne Wright from Old North UMC came to Trinity UMC and volunteered in January. While there, Bruce Wright and volunteer Tommy Rainey of Georgia talked about the idea of building the showers. With only two showers available at the church and many volunteers every week, Trinity was in great need of more showers.

Bruce Wright went back to his church in Indiana and presented the idea to the congregation with the support of his pastor, Tom Heaton. The congregation at Old North UMC began giving its time, money and prayers to make it possible for Trinity UMC to have four extra showers available for volunteers.

Handsboro UMC in Gulfport also received four showers. Handsboro did not have any shower facilities, but still had volunteers coming to stay and give their time for the community.
