Gulfport First UMC offers workshops

will begin new sessions of its three ongoing community outreach programs in April.

The Divorce Recovery Workshop offers support for persons who are going through the upheaval of a divorce or separation. Participants hear community professionals speak on divorce issues and break into small groups for sharing and discussion. The workshop meets Thursday nights for 12 weeks beginning April 20.

The Grief Recovery Workshop offers a caring environment for persons dealing with the aftermath of the death of a loved one.  Participants are given the opportunity to share with one another and to hear speakers on grief-related topics. The workshop meets on Thursday nights for 12 weeks beginning April 20.

Broken Rainbow is a program for children and young people who have experienced a divorce or death in their family and are having difficulty adjusting to the changes in their lives.  The program will meet for five weeks on Monday nights beginning April 24, and also offers a support group for single parents which meets during the same time.

All workshops meet at 7 p.m. in the Education Building of First United Methodist Church in downtown Gulfport. Free child care is provided. The workshop fee is $35; the families of Divorce or Grief Recovery participants may attend Broken Rainbow at no cost. Pre-registration is not necessary. For more information, call 228-863-0047.
