Kenneth Lane Kelly


DORSEY - Kenneth Lane Kelly II, 30, died March 5, 2006, at his residence after a sudden illness.

A Chesterville community native, he was born March 11, 1975, to Sherry Walton Kelly and the late Rev. Kenneth Lane Kelly. He was employed with United Parcel Service. He was a member of the Tombigbee Baptist Church of Mantachie. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and farming, and loved his family, friends and his Lord.

He was the son-in-law of the Rev. Charles Simmons, pastor on the Marks/Lambert Charge of the Mississippi Conference of The United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, Alford P. Kelly and Howard S. Walton.

Services were held March 7 in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Paul Graham, the Rev. Lowell Johnson and Simmons officiating. Burial was in Locust Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Fretz, Michael Walton, Chip Fowler, Mike Weaver, Elon East and Jerrod Cagle.

Survivors include: wife, Elizabeth Simmons Kelly of Dorsey; daughter, Caitlyn Kelly of Dorsey; son, Joshua of Dorsey; mother, Sherry Kelly of Chesterville; sister, Stephanie Cagle of Baldwyn; brother, Wayne Kelly of Chesterville; and grandparents, Wilma Kelly of Chesterville and Annie Faye Walton of Lambert.
