Mississippi Delegation Election Update

5/18/2023

Greetings clergy and lay members to annual conference,

Per a previous release on AC Session Election and Petitions, several factors have caused a reduction of reserve delegates for jurisdictional conference. The Judicial Council gave a ruling on how to proceed with filling General Conference spots in Judicial Council Decision 1472. The recent more precise reading of the decision determined that only conferences needing General Conference delegates need to have elections. Mississippi has jurisdictional conference delegates who will serve as General Conference delegates. Therefore, the Mississippi Conference will not be holding elections for delegates this year.

Click on the image below to hear Mississippi Conference Secretary, Rev. Trey Harper, give a brief, detailed explanation of how this more precise reading of Judicial Council Decision 1472 impacts the Mississippi Delegation.
