Clergy Instructions for Celebration Service

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 9, 2023

Greetings Mississippi Conference clergy,

You should have already received the invitation to the Celebration of Assignment service honoring Mississippi's new episcopal leader Bishop Sharma D. Lewis. The service takes place Sunday, January 22 at 3:30 p.m. at Anderson United Methodist Church in Jackson.

Clergy have been asked to process and will be seated in a special reserved section in the sanctuary. If you desire to participate in the procession we ask that you wear your robe (any color) and red stoles. You are asked to arrive by 2:50 p.m. if possible. There will be ushers to direct you to the robing area. If you plan to process but cannot arrive by 2:50 p.m. reply to this email as soon as possible so that we can reserve the appropriate number of seats.

We look forward to gathering with you as we worship Christ and celebrate the assignment of our new resident bishop.
