Pandemic Task Force Assembles, Prioritizes Objectives

7/29/2020

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: JULY 29, 2020

The Mississippi Conference Pandemic Task Force gathered this week for the first time. With a plethora of backgrounds ranging from healthcare to education, this task force began plotting a course to develop short and long-term plans to encourage the spiritual, emotional and physical well-being of faith communities in this coronavirus pandemic. Objectives of this goal include making data-driven decisions that include clergy and laity from a diversity of church size and cultural perspectives, which help develop ways to live in the midst of the pandemic.

Thus far, the task force has two sub-committees—one discerning how to bathe these decisions and resources in faith, and one exploring the medical precautions that need to be examined and implemented. This task force is planning on meeting weekly for the foreseeable future and conference communications will release new developments from these meetings. These and future updates from the Mississippi Conference Pandemic Task Force can be found on the conference website at the Congregational Care and the Coronavirus page.
