Lay Servant Ministries is one of the most significant lay leadership development programs available within the United Methodist connection. Through this equipping and empowering system, lay servants can grow as disciples of Jesus Christ who then go and make other disciples.
We hope you will join us February 21-22, 2020 for our Lay Servant Training. This year. Our classes and faculty are:
Adult Basic Course: Rev. Mary R. Hutson, Ordained Elder serving Aberdeen First & Strong United Methodist.
This course should be taken before any other. It introduces basic skills in 3 primary aspects of Lay Servant Ministries: leading, caring and communicating.
Transforming Evangelism: Rev. Corey Truett, Ordained Elder serving at The Well in Olive Branch, MS.
This course leads participants to learn from John Wesley how to practice relational evangelism. They will discover that evangelism involves not only sharing our faith with others but welcoming people into a community where they can grow their faith.
Life Together in the United Methodist Connection (United Methodist Polity): Rev. Dr. Embra Jackson, Ordained Elder serving as Senior Pastor at Tupelo First United Methodist Church.
This course gives participants an overview of the structure and organization of The United Methodist Church.
