The Reverend Dr.  Stephen Tyrone Cook currently serves as the District Superintendent of the West Jackson District in the Mississippi Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church.  This diverse district includes sixty-two (62) church communities ranging from the size as few as 16 to as many 2,500 members.  The West Jackson District, which is located in urban, suburban, and rural areas, is served by 80 active and retired United Methodist clergy and lay servants.  In his present role as District Superintendent, Dr. Cook assists the bishop of the Mississippi Conference with the general act of superintending as a chief missional strategist by providing spiritual and pastoral leadership, supervision, and administration to the clergy and laity in the churches of the West Jackson District and beyond.
