Rev. Timothy Thompson
Timothy C. Thompson, Sr., is the Administrative Assistant to the Bishop of the Mississippi Annual Conference and the Director for Faith Community Formation.
 
Rev. Thompson received a Master’s of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology, a professional school of Emory University, graduating as a Jean Ray and Sherman Scholar. He majored in preaching, teaching and pastoral care.
 
As an Elder in the United Methodist Church, Rev. Thompson has served in various capacities and positions within the church and community, such as: Conference and District Board of Ordain Ministry, chair of Interview Team North of the Board of Ordain Ministry, counseling and supervising elder, president of the Emory Club of the Mississippi Conference, former RIM council member, former member of the United Methodist Board of Campus Ministry, and was a Boy/Cub Scout sponsor. He is the former Election Commissioner for District 4 of Leflore County.
 
In 2006 Rev. Timothy C. Thompson was appointed to serve on the cabinet as District Superintendent of the Meridian District of the United Methodist Church in Meridian, MS. Currently, he is the Administrative Assistant to the Bishop of the Mississippi Annual Conference and the Director for Faith Community Formation. Thompson works with staff, district superintendents, and committees to lead and assist in the development of vital communities of faith by creating communities and encouraging vitality in existing communities of faith.
 
On April 24, 1983, Rev. Thompson married the former Betty Ann Lee. They have two beautiful children, son, Timothy II and daughter, LaKendra, and proud grandparents to Larry Lampkin and LaKeya Thompson.  He and Mrs. Thompson are adoptive parents to niece Teresa Rodgers.
