General Board of Higher Education and Ministry Scholarships - Apply for various scholarships at: The GBHEM scholarship application opens in January of each year. You need only to submit one application per year where it will be screened for all possible eligible programs.

The Mississippi United Methodist Foundation awards scholarships through the wise investment of gifts made by generous donors. Scholarship applications will go live on January 2, 2020 for college and seminary students at Eligible students must be active participants in a United Methodist Church in the Mississippi Annual Conference and attend any accredited college, university or seminary. Seminary students must be certified candidates for Ordained Ministry through the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry. Completed applications are due by April 1, 2020.

Mississippi Conference United Methodist Women award Frances Perry Scholarships to students in their junior, senior or graduate years of college interested in pursuing a church-related career in The United Methodist Church or for those who may enroll in approved training programs for church leaders. Susanna Wesley Scholarship is available to clergy spouses in Mississippi Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, currently enrolled in college or graduate school. This scholarship is presented twice a year as funds are available. Theressa Hoover Community Service and Global Citizenship Award - This fund and grant honors Ms. Hoover's dedication to community service, public policy and ecumenical, global views. It is awarded to young women for the purpose of study, exploration, learning and research in a subject area of the recipient's choosing that matches United Methodist Women's priority issues. Ministerial Education Fund is a service loan offered to certified candidates for ordination who pursuing a masters level theological degree. MEF is funded through the generosity of United Methodist people across Mississippi and around the world through mission shares and special offerings. MEF allocations are 50 percent of tuition each semester. MEF is a "service loan." The loan is repaid with service to the annual conference. In receiving the service loan, you agree to serve under appointment in The United Methodist Church for four years following the completion of your theological education. Go to for more information.
