Youth Minister Opening  Minor Memorial United Methodist Church

Minor Memorial UMC in Walls, MS (near Memphis, TN) is seeking a full-time Youth Minister to be a part of our ministry team. We currently have 20-30 students involved in our youth ministry and need someone who can step in and build upon and strengthen our current program.

Candidates should feel called by God to minister to teenagers and should have a passion for helping young people grow as disciples of Christ. With a primary focus on working with youth from junior high through the transition to college years, the candidate will also be asked to serve as a staff liaison and offer assistance to our children’s ministry volunteers. Situated in close proximity to both Lake Cormorant and Horn Lake schools, the community outreach possibilities are tremendous for the Youth Ministry of Minor Memorial UMC. 

 

Candidates must have a personal commitment to, and enthusiasm for, the Christian faith and possess a unique sense of calling to work with youth. Candidates should be able to build relationships and effectively communicate with youth, young adults, their families, and staff. Preferred candidates will have an Associate’s degree or higher, previous experience working with youth in the local church, and a solid understanding of United Methodist theology and doctrine. 

 

This is a full-time position however the hours are flexible for someone who may be pursuing a graduate level degree at a seminary or school in the Memphis area.
