WESLEY FOUNDATION Itawamba Community College Campus Minister/Director Job Description Locations-Belden, Fulton and Tupelo

Introduction 

The Itawamba Community College (ICC) Wesley Foundation is a campus ministry of Belden, Fulton and Tupelo campus students, faculty, and staff. ICC Wesley Foundation is administered by the Mississippi Annual Conference Committee on Higher Education and Campus Ministry and a local ICC Wesley Foundation Board of Directors. 

Itawamba Community College is a true college experience with 1000 residential students living on campus in Fulton with hundreds more living in apartments near the college. The faculty and staff at ICC are amazing and care deeply for the students as they move from ICC into the work force or 4-year schools. ICC boasts a 200+ member marching band, incredible arts department, athletics (men’s and women’s soccer, football, Men’s and women’s basketball, softball, baseball, and men’s and women’s tennis) and campus activities. The Tupelo Campus (20 miles away) is a commuter campus with a wider variety of students that give a very exciting opportunity for ministry. ICC’s Belden Center is a smaller location, focusing on a few CTE (Career/Technical Education programs and a GED program). 

 

The ICC Wesley Foundation operates under the direction of the Wesley Foundation Campus Minister/Director. The Wesley Foundation’s mission is to make disciples for college life AND life after college. The Wesley Foundation’s intent is to provide a campus ministry in the name of Jesus Christ to all students and facilitate a faith-oriented educational experience, based on Wesleyan principles, for students, including ministering to students, spiritual direction, providing faith-based outreach events, authentic community providing a place of worship to experience fellowship with others, and growth in faith. 

Mission 

-To make disciples for college life AND life after college. 

-To provide a campus ministry in the name of Jesus Christ to all students 

-To facilitate a faith-orientated educational experience, based on Wesleyan principles, for students 

-To minister to students, providing spiritual direction 

-To provide faith-based outreach events for students 

-To provide an authentic place of worship for students to experience fellowship with others and growth in faith 

Reports to 

(1) Board of Directors of Wesley Foundation at Itawamba Community College and (2) the United Methodist Committee on Higher Education and Campus Ministry 

Purpose 

The Wesley Foundation Campus Minister/Director is counselor, administrator, educator, leader of worship, theological leader, and organizer. The Campus Minister/Director must give time and energy to those roles which will be of greatest benefit to the students and the campus. The full time Wesley Foundation Campus Minister/Director whose duties involve administration, strategy and initiative is the primary innovator and coordinator of the church’s ministries on the campus.
