MS Delta Team Project Coordinator


Reports to:MS Delta Community Manager – Kelly Sayle – ·      Overall responsibility: This person would be responsible for the planning, coordinating, and executing of our short-term mission team’s projects and daily schedule through-out the year.  ·      This individual will consistently communicate with BGM Delta Team, Jonestown community members, Mission Trip Coordinator, Short-term mission trip team leader, and any project lead staffer.

·      Minimum Requirements

  • Growing relationship with Jesus Christ 
  • Ministry and mission experience in diverse cultures – Including discipleship of men/young guys
  • Experience in managing a basic budget
  • Maintenance and light construction skills preferred 
  • Highly skilled in project planning and scheduling 
  • Highly skilled in leading teams of people toward a common mission
  • Lives a healthy and active lifestyle -- There are high physical and emotional demands in this role
  • MS word, excel, power point and Google Docs
  • Use of social media, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter is beneficial

Job Responsibilities: 
  1. General Responsibilities for But God Ministries (BGM) – (Outside of Short-term mission team trips)
    1. Willingly work with other BGM Delta team members
      • Coordinate resources to meet ministry needs with Community Manager– 
        • Upcoming team activities that align with SPHERES 
          • Electrical and plumbing projects
          • Construction projects
          • Agriculture projects
          • Pastoral/Church Projects
          • Business Development Projects 
      • Participate and Lead in weekly Delta team meeting’s along with personal growth and leadership development
    2. Assist in leadership with the Community Manager as needed to uncover needs aligning with our mission and ministry 
      • Willingly lead and participate in team prayer walks 
      • Consistently communicate with and build relationships with local town members
      • Presentations to interest groups 
      • Assist Community Manager with long range planning and budget formulation
  1. Short-Term Mission Team Planning Responsibilities -- 
    1. Take initiative to review the BGM website on a regular basis to identify weeks’ teams will be at BGM community 
      • Understand and follow our mission team planning process – will work with Community Manager and Missions Coordinator on this.
  1. Proactively communicate with Short-term Mission Trip Team Leader on a routine basis 
  1. Creatively and prayerfully plan each Short-term mission team schedule once dates are confirmed from calendar
    • Coordinate the purchase materials as needed for the activities for the week -
    • Take the lead in working with the BGM Staff/Contract labor to meet the needs of all of the team activities 
    • Clearly communicate verbally and in writing, using Google Docs, all mission team schedule details 
    • Initiate leadership in communicating all short-term mission team schedule information during weekly Delta Team meeting’s 
    • Routine review with the Community Manager to insure BGM Delta team values are in line with mission team schedule 
  2. Meal planning
    • Establish menu for the week –
      • Take leadership in partnering with local vendors  
      • Clearly communicate with local vendors regarding food orders
      • Incorporate local Churches as needed
    • Identify supplies and food needed for the week -
    • Estimate the amount of money needed - 
      • Grocery stores
      • Clarksdale restaurant’s – Ex. Stone Poney
    • Plan a day for shopping – if needed
  3. Transportation coordination
    • Develop and review monthly airport/travel schedule 
    • Transportation needs for each team – Driver, Vehicle, BGM Staff 
    • Arrange to have money for parking and fuel for vehicle (if needed)
    • Coordinate usage of BGM truck
  4. Finalize plans for the week
    • Delta Team Meeting’s – Communicate with BGM Delta Team
    • Communicate with Mission Team leader about any changes and updates 
    • Organize and Assign appropriate staff to team activities -
  5. Team arrival/Daily coordination of team activities
    • Coordinate with the Community Manager to meet each team to welcome them and lead team orientation
    • Insure that construction teams have supplies needed – Water, Construction materials, Gloves
    • At meal times discuss activities of the day with team and team members -
    • Participate with Community Manager for team debrief/evaluation at end of week for any needed adjustments for next week. 
  6. Other duties as defined by BGM Community Manager
