Plan to Give This Sunday November 30 --

United Methodist Student Day

When you support United Methodist Student Day, you make it possible for people like Abby Herrington, a recent Millsaps College graduate, to serve the world God loves.  Herrington (photo right) is the youth and children's ministries director at Alta Woods United Methodist Church in Jackson, Mississippi.  She shares how the generosity of others helped her through school.

"The scholarships provided by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM) gave me the financial support I needed during my time at Millsaps College. They provided opportunities to buy books and other essential educational items. Moreover, their helped extended beyond even this.  It was because of the gifts I was able to borrow fewer student loans, and therefore have less debt as a young adult. I always knew my educational dreams were supported by my local churches and the Mississippi Conference. The GBHEM scholarships made me aware that The United Methodist Church as a whole is also invested in educating young minds. The board's stewardship of education has taught me how important it is to support future students."

The last Sunday of November, furnishes scholarships and loans for students attending United Methodist related and other accredited colleges and universities.  On November 30, 2014 give to United Methodist Student Day. When you give generously you are supporting students as they prepare for a life that unites faith with knowledge.
