Wesley House Community Center is pleased to announce the return of Cheryl Farr to the Center. She used to serve as the Wesley House Coordinator of Connectional Ministries. She was also the bookkeeper. Farr will be managing communications and public relations as well as designing and maintaining the website. Wesley House, which is supported by the Mississippi Conference of The United Methodist Church, houses several agencies that address social issues, like the East Mississippi Sexual Assault Crisis Center that supports victims of this crime. Farr is currently a deaconess with The United Methodist Church. She pastors Brownfield UMC in Walnut, Mississippi as a candidate for ministry. She resides in Hickory Flat, Mississippi with her two sons. While much of her work will be off-site, Farr will be available at the center on Wednesdays and as needed. Farr says she is excited to go back. "I know that God is going to use Wesley House Community Center, not only to continue the work of caring for those in need, but to find new avenues to advance the Kingdom in the Meridian area and across the state," she said. The executive director at Wesley House, Elizabeth Graham, is also a United Methodist deaconess. Graham states that it is very exciting to have another deaconess working at Wesley House, especially since deaconesses were key pieces to the Wesley House staff from its earliest days. |
