This past summer, the Tupelo District office made the move into their new home on West Jackson Street in Tupelo, Mississippi and has been settling in over the past few months. On Saturday, November 8, 2014 the doors officially opened for an open house. Many district pastors and friends came to see the new facilities and offer congratulations. Besides refreshments, there were tours given by district superintendent, Rev. Dr. Jimmy Barnes and district secretary, Ben Orr.
The main hallway of the new office is lined with photographs of Tupelo District churches. This new space provides a large room for gatherings, a conference room for meetings, an extra computer workspace for area pastors to use and office spaces.
"The new facilities are better, easier to access and are more comfortable for meetings. The new space will provide better hospitality for our pastors and other visitors," stated Barnes during the open house.
District secretary, Ben Orr added that the new office building offers more potential for meetings, educational events and even work events with the inclusion of showers and a small kitchen. The Tupelo District looks forward to the new space and how it will provide for the district churches and pastors.
