Decatur UMC Raises Money for Racing Wheelchair

10/10/2014

The youth group at Decatur United Methodist Church in Decatur, Mississippi hosted a spaghetti supper and 'talent-less' show fundraiser on September 28, 2014 to raise money to purchase a racing wheelchair for Ainsley's Angels. Ainsley's Angels is an organization that provides disabled athletes of all ages the opportunity to participate in endurance events-such as marathons-by matching them with other athletes who are willing to push them through the competition. Just over $1,000 was raised, which was enough to purchase one chair for the organization. Youth pastor, Cydney Foster, who promised to touch a snake if enough money was raised, was forced to make friends with corn snake name Jake afterwards (pictured).
