Rev. Gary Glazier, pastor of Morton First United Methodist Church and We Care Mission volunteer, presented We Care Mission with a check from Morton First for hams to supplement the local pantry’s December food distribution. We Care Mission, a Scott County Christian outreach ministry, seeks to serve people in the community needing food and clothing assistance.

More than 300 Scott County households representing 531 people benefited from the church’s gift, funded through the church’s noisy offerings. Noisy offerings of the church are taken each Sunday with a different mission supported each month. Prior missions supported by the noisy offering, which had its recent beginnings as a giving ministry of the church, included the Methodist Children’s Homes and Society of St. Andrews. Morton First’s donation was graciously accepted on behalf of We Care Mission by its volunteers. We Care Mission volunteers faithfully come together four times a month to build food boxes and distribute groceries on distribution days.
