Holly Springs Primary School's First "Read Around the Christmas Tree" Extravaganza led by Rust College.

Family School on December 3 and Holly Springs Primary School on December 6for the "Read Around the Christmas Tree" extravaganza. Community volunteers, students from Rust College and other supporters read to pre-school and elementary children one-on-one. At the end of the reading activity, the reader presented the book to the student as a gift.
The readers were entertained by the youngsters in song, dance and recitations. Light refreshments were served. The Division of Education at Rust College presented each child with a traditional snack bag with apples, oranges and peppermint candy cane.
"Read Around the Christmas Tree" was first introduced in 2012 at Holy Family School, while Holly Springs Primary School joined the 2013 pre-Christmas celebration.
Rust College is a historically black, co-educational, senior liberal arts college founded in 1866 by the Freedman's Aid Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The College is related to the United Methodist Church, and is dedicated to serving students with a variety of academic preparations, through instruction in the humanities, social and behavioral sciences, natural science, business, technology, and education.
