Transition: A Time of Great Opportunity

A Task Force of the Board of Ordained Ministry and the Cabinet have been working all year to create a helpful opportunity for all clergy preparing to transition to a new appointment in June, 2012.

This day will help prepare moving clergy for future ministry using the Lewis Center material called, "The Right Start." Short video presentations led by the Rev. Lovett Weems along with discussion and printed materials will engage hopes and concerns.

Those gathered will be teachers through the sharing of experiences as well as learners exploring questions in community together.

There are three options for attendance: Thursday, April 26, in Oxford, Thursday, May 3, in Hattiesburg or Thursday, May 10, in Jackson.

The sessions will be identical, with variety of dates and places for the convenience of participating clergy.

All moving full-time pastors will participate, and all moving part-time pastors are invited but not required to attend.

Register now through your district office. If you are moving, thank you for registering today. If you are remaining, thank you for praying today for churches and for sister and brother clergy who are in transition.

May we all be blessed through this time of connection and preparation for the adventure ahead.

With gratitude for the ministry in Christ we share,
Hope Morgan Ward
