Welcome to the 2010 Session of The Mississippi Annual Conference!
We will celebrate the growth experienced in our souls and in our churches and in our ministries. We will worship, learn, dialogue, serve, and make decisions together. We will go forth committed to growth in evangelism, in Christian nurture, in mission, and in generosity.
The worship center for our Annual Conference Session will be a beautiful watered garden. In addition, we will create around us an encircling display of plants, flowers, trees and other symbols of the growth taking place in our churches and ministries.
I hope you will enjoy identifying a symbol of growth – something that is growing or something that symbolizes growth. Bring your symbol with you to Annual Conference. Be sure to 1. Identify the name of your church or charge or ministry, 2. Prepare for your plant or symbol or display to be freestanding, and 3. Take home your symbol as you leave Annual Conference.
The scriptures tell us over and over again: God has promised a glorious harvest. Christ’s ministry will have a wondrous result. The whole world will be filled with fruit.
I look forward to all that God will do in our midst as we gather June 11-13 at The Jackson Convention Center.
