 United Methodist News Service

The Commission on General Conference has selected Connections Housing as the official accommodations partner for the 2016 General Conference in Portland, Oregon and the 2020 General Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Through this partnership with The United Methodist Church's top legislative body, Connections Housing will manage all aspects of accommodations, including leading and organizing hotel relationships, negotiations and contracting. Connections Housing will take reservations via their call center and through a custom-designed website using secure Passkey technology, the largest processor of online group hotel reservations in the world.

"We encourage non-delegation groups to also contact Connections Housing for help with their hotel blocks in Portland and Minneapolis," said Sara Hotchkiss, Business Manager of The General Conference of The United Methodist Church. "By all of us working together on our housing needs, we create an opportunity to save money on future General Conferences by getting more accurate data of our total hotel use and economic impact."

General Conference 2016 will take place May 10-20 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. Scheduled for May 5-15 in 2020, General Conference will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

Connections Housing has established hotel industry relationships in both Portland and Minneapolis. The group has been a full-service meetings management and housing service provider since 1986. For more information about Connections Housing, go to
