Calling All Youth to AC

What is NEXUS?  It is all about connections and for this reason those planning the youth activities for this year's Mississippi Annual Conference are urging young people to attend.

During the 2013 Annual Conference, on Saturday, June 8, there will be a special time for the youth of Mississippi to join together for a HUGE day of connecting, sharing, and worshiping together. The Methodist Children's Homes will join the fun later that afternoon. Applications will be available for anyone to apply for the CCYM (the conference council on youth ministry) in order to help plan next year's youth day!

Organizer Dianne Lemmon is excited about the youth coming together.

"I am really excited about the upcoming NEXUS event. The youth are good at making connections in their everyday life

Dianne Lemmon
and they wanted to emphasize that as we come together for this event. Together, I have seen the youth of this conference do wonderful things, and hope this exciting day will be a time to renew and establish even more of the connections so important for us," said Lemmon.

Between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., youth will meet outside the conference meeting room to assemble for a time of prayer. They will surround the adult delegates to pray over them in the big meeting room as they begin their day!

Later the youth we will convene for games, lunch, and music by LP (like Paul), a Christian rapper and enjoy a concert by Stereo Radio, an upcoming Christian band that has toured world-wide. Mike Howington, the new conference youth coordinator will bring us a fun (GREAT stories!) and meaningful message.

Youth Day at Annual Conference is June 8, 2013 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Jackson Convention Center in Jackson MS.  The cost to attend is $20.00.
