The Rev. Roy S. Johansen, former regional secretary of evangelism for the Northern Europe, under the auspices of the World Methodist Council, will be the worship leader for this year’s Felder’s Campground meeting.
The gathering begins with worship at 7:30 p.m. July 17 and ends with worship at 11 a.m. July 26.
After 27 years of giving leadership in local United Methodist churches in Scandinavia and Northern Europe, Johnansen’s conference has arranged his pastoral appointment to enable him to schedule more evangelistic missions in various parts of the world. He has already had the opportunity to conduct missions and Living Faith revivals in a number of larger UM churches in the United States. Johansen is a former chemist who worked for Shell Oil and was a manager in the textile industry. He is married and has four children.
Services at Felder’s Campground, located east of Summit in Pike County, are scheduled for twice daily at 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. except for July 25. On that day, a Stop Hunger Now event to prepare 10,000 meals is scheduled at 3 p.m. Also, a hayride followed by hotdogs and chili are scheduled after that night’s service.
