Jackson Central United Methodist Church and the Mississippi Faith Based Coalition are joining together to offer workshops to strengthen families and make better lives for children.
The groups are offering four workshops in June and July that will cover a variety of topics vital to family life: abstinence, parenting, fatherhood and healthy marriages. The workshops are called the Families first Workshop Series, and the theme is “Making a Difference in the Lives of Children.”
The workshops are designed for participants of various ages. All will begin at 6 p.m. and last one hour, followed by a meal. The workshops, to be held at Central UMC on Farish Street, are free and open to the public.
June 12 — Abstinence; ages 12-up
June 26 — Parenting; ages 16-up
July 3 — Fatherhood, ages 16-up
July 10 — Health Marriages; married and engaged couples
