Study guides churches in understanding flu virus


NASHVILLE — In response to the growth and fears of the swine flu virus, Cokesbury has released a FaithLink Feature on “Facing the Flu Outbreak” that provides background on the H1N1 virus for church groups or individuals. .

The feature and complete study address the fears and questions arising in the midst of a growing pandemic. Some of the questions addressed include, “What will happen if I get swine flu?” and “What if my kids get sick?”

Andrew J. Schleicher, freelance journalist and provisional deacon of the United Methodist Detroit Conference, joined with researcher Dave Barnhart and editors Pamela Dilmore and Mickey Frith in developing the resources.
