Walden Chapel plans annual Women’s Conference


Women of all ages are invited to take part in Walden Chapel United Methodist Church’s 2009 Women’s Conference.

The event is scheduled for 8 a.m. May 2 with the theme “Women on mission for the Lord” based on Matthew 25:34-40. Breakfast will served at 8 a.m. with the conference starting at 9 .m.

Topics and speakers scheduled include:

• Spiritual Formation: Empowering the Spirit and Soul — Evangelist Beatrice Randle of Lexington.
• Christian Meditation: Prayer and your Brain — the Rev. Norma Jean Puplampu, spiritual director
• Walking In the Foot Steps of Jesus: Highlights of the Rev. Martha Coffee Williams’ trip to The Holy Land
• Nurture & Outreach, Social Action — Highlights of mission and ministry areas
• Drug Awareness — an officer of the Mississippi Narcotics Bureau
• Stress and Laughter — the Rev. Jacqueline Winter
• Health Issues and Eating Habits — Ruby Martin, community health leader
• Holistic Ministry: Empowering the Spirit, Soul and Body for Mission and Ministry — the Rev. Annie F. Williams, spiritual director trainee
• Self Defense Techniques and Exercise — Earnest Terry of Tiger-Bo Taekwondo/Kickboxing Center.
