A Stream Of Faith
By Charles E. Westbrook

“For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. … For anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” — Romans 10:9, 3

If I had a special Bible passage it would be this one because it seems to be a passage of peace. I learned to recite this scripture and it seems to help me get through the day. I also just enjoy reading it and allowing it to sink through me as I meditate over it.

This passage tells me that things will be all right, and all that I need to do is put my faith in Jesus Christ and know that he is right there with me letting the father know that I'm saved and that I belong to him. As I read this passage, it gives me hope that only the Lord can give and all I need to do is trust him at his word.

According to verse 9 we need to confess that Jesus Christ is always with us and helps us with everything we do. We must confess that God did raise Jesus Christ from the dead and today he still takes care of us. The scripture starts off by saying "'for if you confess," meaning that you have faith in knowing that we need to confess and admit we need the Lord’s forgiveness. He also says that if we believe we will be saved.

In verse 13 we sum it up by trusting and believing in him and knowing that Jesus Christ did die for our sins. With this knowledge, we can be assured that we are indeed saved. We need to know that he was hung on the cross and died so we can believe and live our lives for Him. Verse 9 is a message of hope.

God loves each of us and wants the best for us. We need to know beyond a shadow of doubt that we are saved, and we are.

This is a scripture of hope, and it's there for you, me and anyone who believes.
