Conference treasurer shares important year-end information

David Stotts, conference treasurer, has issues some reminders for church treasurers as the year comes to a close.

Contribution documentation — Credit for cash gifts received thru Dec. 31, 2008, should be included on giving records, even if the checks dated Dec. 31 are received after the first of the year.

W-2 and 1099 forms — Be sure to file all 1099s and W-2 forms by Jan. 31. Remember, pastors must receive a W-2 form.

Conference books closing — The 2008 conference apportionment books will be closed on Friday Jan. Please be sure to have gifts to conference ministry by that date.

Year-end statistical reports — The statistical reporting format is identical to last year. Go to the conference website ( and in the upper right hand corner enter the church dashboard using your GCFA number and your conference local church number. There you will find the link to the stat tables. There are copies of the year end reports in the district office. Table 3 must be completed this year.

The web site for stats will open Jan. 1 and close Jan. 23. Watch for district announcements about stats.
