Methodist University expands staff at Transplant Institute


Dr. Luis Campos has joined the surgical staff of Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute. Campos will also be a member of UT Medical Group, Inc., and will serve as an associate professor in the University of Tennessee Health Science Center Department of Surgery.

“We’re excited to have Dr. Campos join our surgical team,” said Dr. James Eason, program director of Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute. “We feel very privileged to have attracted someone of his caliber. His comprehensive training, talent and experience make him an invaluable addition to the Transplant Institute.”

Campos received his medical degree from LaSalle University in Mexico City. His postgraduate training includes work as an intern and resident in general surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. While there he also completed fellowships in multiple organ transplant and surgical research. His professional memberships include The Transplantation Society, American Society of Transplant Surgeons, Association for the Advancement of Science and the International Pancreas and Islet Transplantation Society.
