Crystal Springs church sends group to Dallas

Four members of New Zion United Methodist Church in Crystal Springs were among about 700 people to attend the Strengthening the Black Church for the 21st Century event held Sept. 11-13 in Dallas.

Those attending from New Zion included Steven Willis, Debra Stamps, Renada Robinson, Vernessa Buie and the Rev. Arthur Lewis, Jr.

Dr. Monya Davis Logaw, minister of worship arts at St. Luke Community UMC in Dallas led praises, while welcomes were offered by Dr. Carolyn E. Johnson, vice chair of SBC 21st; Bishop Johnathan D. Keaton, SBC 21 chair, and Dallas Mayor Dwaine Caraway. The Rev. Dr. Cedrick D. Bridy of the California-Pacific Conference led Bible study.
