VICKSBURG — Jewel Scott, 97, a clergy spouse, died Sept. 3, 2008 at her residence in Brandon.
Services were held Sept. 6 at Glenwood Funeral Home. Burial was at Green Acres Memorial Park with the Rev. David Warren and the Rev. David Harrison officiating. Pallbearers were Kenny Jordan, Warren Wilson, Pat Pattison, Ben Whatley, Carl Terry Hudson and Chris Ratliff.
Mrs. Scott was born in Midnight and lived in Vicksburg most of her life and was a resident of Brandon for the past several years. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Gibson Memorial United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Harry L. Scott Sr., a clergy member of the Mississippi United Methodist Conference; son Harry L. Scott Jr., and sister, Thursa Poythress.
Survivors include: daughter, Thursa Mae Westcott of Utica; son, John L. Scott of Brandon; and six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
