The second session of The Stewardship Academy sponsored by The Mississippi United Methodist Foundation is scheduled for Sept. 12-13.
Pastors, chairs of finance, chairs of stewardship, chairs of leadership councils and others who attended the first session in March are reminded that the second event will begin on at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 12 at Crossgates United Methodist Church in Brandon.
The Stewardship Academy is an intensive examination of local church stewardship theory and practice involving three, two-day events extending over a full year of study and involvement. This transforming process includes a broad range of information, ideas, resources, and models of stewardship with participants getting assignments to work on between sessions to enhance and reinforce learning as applied to their current ministry setting. Participants receive thorough training in leading churches in healthy and biblical approaches to the use of money and finances by two nationally recognized leaders, Dr. Wayne Barrett and Rev. Denny Buwalda.
