Dr. Maxie Dunnam will be the evangelist when the Winston County United Methodist Ministry hosts revival services Sept. 14-16.
Dunnam, a Mississippi native, has served in the local church, as world editor of the Upper Room and president of Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Ky. He has written several books and published a video/study program called “Bible Study for Christian Living.” During his time at the Upper Room, he played a key role in the development of the Walk to Emmaus renewal retreat.
Those attending the revival will have several opportunities to hear Dunnam. He will speak at 11 a.m. Sept. 14 at Louisville First UMC. In addition, he will speak at First UMC at 7 p.m. Sept. 14-16 at the church. He will speak at 11 a.m. on Sept. 15 at Noxapater UMC, and at 11 a.m. Sept. 16 at Whitehall UMC. A light lunch will be served following those services. Dunnam will have a question-and-answer time with youth at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 14 in the gym at First Methodist Church.
Dunnam will lead a pastor’s seminar at 2 p.m. Sept. 15 at First Methodist Church. The topic is “The Future of the Church in America.” All are welcome to attend.
