Seals-Jones joins Rust College staff


Dr. Juanita Seals-Jones has been named director of the First Year Experience Program at Rust College in Holly Springs.

Prior to coming to Rust College, Jones served as director of treatment for Northeast Louisiana Marine Institute in Tallulah, La. Jones has held a variety of leadership roles. She served as director of counseling at Mississippi Job Corps. She has also served as a counselor in student support services at Tougaloo College, counselor for Batesville Job Corps Center, center director for Memphis Job Corps Center, restitution coordinator for Hinds County Youth Court, as well as division director I for Oakley Training School. She taught school in Tallulah and Jackson.

As head of First Year Experience, Jones responsibilities will also include director of the Counseling, Outreach, Problem-Solving for Excellence Center, also known as the C.O.P.E. Center. A native of Jackson, she received her bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University, master’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and her doctorate degree in early childhood curriculum and instruction at Jackson State University.
