Clergy seeking something different in continuing education might consider attending a Discover God’s Call retreat.
The retreat can also inspire church members to become more involved in the ministry of their church. Discover God’s Call will help church members learn how do to do ministry more effectively in their church and help pastors get their membership motivated for greater ministry.
The next retreat begins at noon Nov. 7 will be held at Camp Wesley Pines in Gallman. The registration deadline is Sept. 26.
The experience begins with a pre-retreat study using materials by Kenneth Kinghorn of Asbury Seminary. In the study, one will learn what spiritual gifts are and how God uses them in his people to build up his church. Included in the study is a “spiritual gifts inventory” to help participants discover what their spiritual gifts are.
Once at the retreat the participants are divided into small groups led by trained facilitators and go on a journey of discovery of how God is calling them to use their spiritual gifts back in their local church.
People have found a Discover retreat to be a positive and helpful experience as well as a time of being able to get away and have undisturbed fellowship with one another and with the Lord.
The cost is $145 and scholarships are available. Register now and plan to go on a new adventure of discovery. For more information, call Mike Norcom at 601-924-4666 or Steve Seeley at 601-372-7461. Visit on the web at www.jxnsaints.com/dgc.htm or register on line at email@example.com
